📍 What is Zorbing?
Zorbing is an exciting adventure sport where a person rolls downhill inside a huge, transparent plastic ball, also known as a zorb. Originating from New Zealand, zorbing has gained popularity in India, especially in adventure hubs like Solang Valley.
🏔️ Why Solang Valley is Perfect for Zorbing
Solang Valley, located near Manali in Himachal Pradesh, is known for its snow-clad mountains and scenic landscapes. During summer months (April to June), when snow clears, the green meadows and gentle slopes of the valley become a perfect playground for zorbing enthusiasts.
The cool breeze, open sky, and panoramic views enhance the fun, making it more than just a ride — it becomes a memory.
🎢 The Experience
Once inside the zorb, you’re securely strapped and gently pushed down a slope. As you roll, you’ll laugh, scream, and feel a strange mix of thrill and weightlessness. It’s completely safe and supervised by trained professionals.
There are two types of zorbing offered:
- Harness Zorbing: You’re strapped inside.
- Hydro Zorbing: A little water is added, making the ride splashy and more slippery.
💸 Cost & Timing
- Cost: ₹300–₹500 per person (approx.)
- Timings: 10 AM – 5 PM (best in dry weather)
Tip: Early mornings are less crowded and offer a calmer experience.
🧳 Tips Before You Roll
- Wear comfortable clothes and avoid carrying valuables.
- Not recommended for people with back or neck issues.
- Always follow the instructor’s safety instructions.
🌄 More Than Just Zorbing
Solang is also a hub for other adventure activities like paragliding, ropeway rides, ATV biking, and skiing (in winter). You can easily make a full day out of it.
