A Lake of Legends
Rewalsar Lake, also known as Tso Pema in Tibetan, is steeped in legend. It is believed to be associated with Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), the revered Buddhist teacher who is said to have meditated here. According to lore, when the local king tried to burn Padmasambhava alive, a lake sprang up from the flames, and the guru emerged unharmed, seated on a blooming lotus.

Rewalsar is well-connected by road. It is about 24 km from Mandi town, and nearest airport is at Bhuntar, around 60 km away. Taxis and buses are easily available from nearby towns.
