To reach Prashar Lake, you can travel to Mandi, the nearest town, which is well connected by road from major Himachali cities like Kullu, Manali, and Shimla. From Mandi, Prashar Lake is about 50 km away, and you can hire a cab or take a local bus. The last stretch includes a scenic drive followed by a short trek (seasonal).

Legend has it that the sage Prashar meditated here, giving the lake its name. Locals believe that the lake was formed by Bhima (of Mahabharata), who struck the ground with his elbow to create a resting place for the sage.
