Located in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, Monkey Point (locally known as Manki Point) is the highest point in Kasauli, offering panoramic views of the Chandigarh plains, Sutlej River, and even snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas on clear days.
🧭 A Glimpse of Mythology
According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where Lord Hanuman stopped while carrying the Sanjeevani Booti to revive Lakshman during the battle in Lanka. The hilltop is said to resemble the shape of a foot, believed to be Hanuman Ji’s footprint.
🛕 Hanuman Temple at the Summit
The Monkey Point Temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Situated inside the Indian Air Force Station, the temple is peaceful and offers a spiritual vibe. Visitors need to go through a security check to enter, as it’s a restricted military area.
